About

At Belhaven Fruit Farm, our passion lies in growing the very best, tastiest and freshest fruit available.

As a family business, we pride ourselves in giving our customers delicious local fruit, whilst doing our utmost to make sure that our business is working in sync with the environment. Scotland is known the world over for its soft fruit industry because the taste of what we grow is unbeaten. Belhaven Fruit Farm is based in East Lothian to the South East of Edinburgh, on a beautiful stretch of the Scottish coastline. Our farm is lucky enough to sit in the spot which receives more sunshine hours than anywhere else in the UK. This sunshine, combined with the fresh sea air, makes our fruit (and IceDelight!) something really special. Not resting on our laurels, we constantly work to stay at the forefront of technology, developing fruit varieties that deliver maximum taste. We like nothing better than meeting and hearing from our customers to make sure that we are giving them the very best!

History

The Rennie family have been farming at Belhaven for generations mostly with potatoes and cereals. We have always had close links with soft fruit and were one of the first to offer pick your own in the area way back in 1980. It was Ian Rennie who resurrected the tradition after visiting a fruit farm down in England and witnessing the revolution in fruit farming brought about by polytunnels. The extended season, together with table top growing systems for easy picking, has lead to a surge in British fruit. We were excited to bring these modern farming practices to East Lothian, and provide fresh, local Scottish produce throughout the year. Today, thanks to the many sunshine hours and the mild local climate here at Belhaven, our fruit farm continues to grow from strength to strength.
